Just for Fun!

Away from the serious business of developing our powerful MRP software, this was written as a light-hearted programming exercise over the Christmas and New Year holiday 2005/2006 to prove a point about random number generation.  It turned out to be fun, so here it is complete with the "rules" if you want to play with it.  You can buy it from our onLine Shop for a very small sum!.

Menu

Select the game you wish to play.  Details of each are shown below.

When the program starts you will see the menu.  Click the button for the game you wish to play.

Single Dice

Click the Roll Dice button to do just that.  The dice will blank, and then the "thrown" number will appear.  By default the dice has the normal 6 faces, but this can optionally be set to 10 or 12 to turbo charge your play!

Twin Dice

Just like the single dice above, but with two of them for when required by your game.  It is possible to throw the same number on both, of course.

Lottery Game

Select the span of numbers you want to use in your game.  The default is 12, but you can select 10 or 6 if the numbers of people playing are smaller, or you want to make it easier to win!  Then click the Rules/Forms button to print out your playing slips (please see below).

Appoint a player as banker, and using tokens, coins, chips or even score paper, make sure that all players start with the same "value" in whatever token you are using.

To play, each player writes their name on the form and chooses 4 numbers by circling them, then hands them to the banker who clicks the Play button.  The numbers will vanish, then reappear one by one.  The winner is the person, if any, who has all 4 numbers correct.  If nobody has all, but somebody has 3 correct numbers and the Extra Ball number as well, they win the round.

If nobody wins the round, the tokens remain in the bank until the next round or next winner.  Keep playing until one person has won the pot, or everybody is "out" in which case the banker wins.  Alternatively, you can play for a set time or number of rounds to see who has the most tokens (including the banker).  For parties or clubs, a box of chocolates or a bottle of bubbly for the winner would add to the fun.

Or make up your own rules!

Print Playing Slips

Click the Print Forms button to print out your play slips, entering the number of sheets you require when the Print dialogue appears.  There are six playing lines per form.
